Smith and Goodson, PLLC is a Civil Engineering and Land Surveying firm located at 7509 Cantrell Road, Suite 227, in Little Rock, Arkansas. We're located on the rear side of Tanglewood Center on the second floor. Allen Smith and Sean Goodson make up the two Founding Members of the PLLC. Allen is the Managing Member. Bobby Brock, P.E. is the Engineering Manager and an Associate in the firm. Our owners are former employees of an older established local firm that sold to a regional engineering firm in 2007. The new owners of that firm decided to reduce staff and eliminate surveying services at the close of 2009. As a result, Smith and Goodson was born in early 2010. We offer our services throughout the state of Arkansas.

Allen Smith is a Professional Surveyor, License Number 1095. His Land Surveying career began in 1975, and became licensed in 1985. He was an employee, and later became an Associate, amassing a 35 year tenure with his previous employer. While employed at that firm, his responsibilities included management of the Survey and Development Division which consisted of 3 survey crews and 6 support personnel. Allen's experience encompasses a wide array of survey projects of various sizes, types and complexities. Allen holds a Land Surveying Certificate from I.C.S. and is a member of the National Society of Professional Surveyors and the Arkansas Society of Professional Surveyors. Allen also performs work as an Engineering Technician, assisting with the design of site developments, roadways, utilities and drainage improvements. He has worked on several schools, medical facilities, shopping centers, office parks, multi-family developments, oil and gas field projects, and numerous other private, public, commercial and industrial projects throughout Arkansas.
Sean Goodson is a Survey Technician / Crew Chief and manages our Surveys Department. He has over 20 years experience working in Construction and Land Surveying. His extensive field experience includes lot and boundary surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title surveys, construction stakeout, topographic surveys and most every common type of surveying. Sean works regularly with Global Positioning Systems (GPS) as well as conventional survey instrumentation. He is also experienced with field crew management, record research, data transfer and processing, computing and CADD drafting. Sean is an Associate Member of the National Society of Professional Surveyors.
Bobby Brock, P.E., Associate manages our Engineering Division. That division performs a variety of civil and environmental services. Our past experience has primarily involved site developments, roadways, drainage, utilities and subdivisions. We've performed work involving schools, medical facilities, shopping centers, office parks, transportation facilities, multi-family, commercial and industrial facilities.
Our staff has experience in most every type of civil engineering and surveying application. We've performed work for numerous private, corporate, utility and governmental entities. Our client list includes architects, engineers, developers, realtors, title companies, contractors, industries and others. Our field crews are equipped with the most technologically advanced survey instrumentation including Global Positioning (G.P.S.), Total Stations, Data Collectors, Automatic Levels, Two-Way Communications, All Terrain Vehicles, Boats and other equipment necessary for precise and expedited surveys, mapping and stakeout. We utilize Foresight Surveying Software in combination with Carlson CADD and other resource software. We adhere to a written Quality Assurance - Quality Control Plan, along with a Standard of Care to assure we are doing all we can to provide a complete and accurate product. Our field personnel are Hazwoper and OSHA 10 certified and adhere to a written Environmental Safety and Health Manual to assure the utmost safety.
